Two Toyota hybrid trucks are outsold by one Ford truck.
The Ford Maverick Hybrid is the Ford truck that is outperforming the hybrid competition. It is wildly outselling both the Toyota Tundra and the Toyota Tacoma hybrids.
In the third quarter of 2024, 20,129 Maverick Hybrid trucks were sold, according to MSN. The Tundra Hybrid sold 4,122 pickups, while the Tacoma Hybrid sold 4,518 units.
Additionally, the Maverick Hybrid is outselling the Ford F-150 Hybrid, its bigger sibling. Only 11,740 F-150 Hybrids were sold in the third quarter of 2024. 77% of the market for hybrid trucks is made up of these two vehicles.
This little Ford vehicle may be successful due to its availability and price. Since its recent debut earlier this year, the Tacoma Hybrid may still be increasing production, which would result in a scarcity of inventories. But since 2022, the Tundra Hybrid has not been available.
The starting price of the 2024 Toyota Tacoma Hybrid is $46,300, while that of the 2024 Maverick Hybrid is $25,670. The Tundra Hybrid then has a starting price of $57,625.
