According to Honda, the 2023–2024 Passport and 2023–2025 Pilot can feature a flawed gasoline filler system that permits leaks.
Honda has recalled 205,760 of its Pilot and Passport SUVs to address a potential gasoline leak issue, according to records submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Honda refers to the issue as a loss of “fuel system integrity,” and it impacts cars manufactured from February 14, 2023, to May 8, 2024.
According to the recall report, SUVs built at that period may have an imperfect neck tube and gasoline filler pipe connection, which might cause them to separate in the case of an accident and possibly spill fuel. Honda claims that just around 1% of the recalled cars are anticipated to have the issue and attributes the problem to “an out-of-sequence process” during the assembly’s installation, which has now been fixed.
According to Honda, the issue has only resulted in one warranty claim and no reports of injury. On January 6, 2025, owners will get recall notifications in the mail, and the problem will be fixed at no cost. Owners can visit Honda’s own recall page or the NHTSA recall website in the meantime to see whether their car is impacted.
