From November 15 until January 6, the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, which assembles the electric pickup truck, will be off.

According to CBS News, Ford intends to temporarily stop producing the F-150 Lightning.

From November 15, 2024, to January 6, 2025, there will be a pause.    In recent months,

Ford has reduced the price of the F-150 Lightning; the basic price of the 2025 model is $7215 less than that of the 2024 model.

Ford sold 22,807 F-150 Lightning electric pickup trucks during the third quarter of 2024

a significant increase over the 12,260 Lightnings that were sold during the same time period in 2023.

Demand is still lower than anticipated for an EV trying to leverage the brand familiarity of the top-selling car in the US

US—Ford sold more than 550,000 F-series cars overall through September 2024.

According to CBS News, Ford is now temporarily halting the F-150 Lightning's manufacture.

Ford has reduced the Lightning's pricing in an effort to increase sales.

2024 model year, the XLT, Flash, and Lariat versions had price reductions of $2000, $5500, and $2500

However, it appears that the price reductions haven't had the intended impact, as seen by the 51-day production halt.
